Location

Olderdalen Ski Camp

is located by the foot of the beautiful mountain Gillevarre. Gillevarre is part of the Kåfjord alps in Kåfjord, Troms.

From our location you are just a short distance away from skiing, mountain climbing, walking on glaciers, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking or just relax under the northern light in the winter or enjoy the 24 hour daylight in the summer.

The cost of the ferries is for the car and driver only, passengers without a car go for free! Nice if you live on one side of the fjord and would like to try your skis or snowboard in the mountains on the other side.

To get there from Tromsø there are two options if you come by car or bus. Either of them has two options, with or without ferries.

If you come by car and plan to go with the ferries, be sure to get the Tromskortet travelcard. It will save you 20% on the regular price. The same goes if you go by bus! If you buy the Tromskortet travelcard, you will get 20% off the regular fare. Call (+47) 777 88 777 for information on how get the card or if you are in Tromsø, drop by the Tromsø Tourist Information Office.

They will sell you the card and also have a lot of other useful information regarding the Troms region. This is also where you take the 150 or 160 bus to Olderdalen.

  • Option one includes two ferries and takes approximately 2,5 hours.

    • Drive E8 out of Tromsø untill you get to Fagernes.

    • Take Rv91 and follow it to Breivikeidet.

    • At Breivikeidet you will take the ferry to Svendsby.

    • At Svendsby follow the road sign to Lyngseidet.

    • From Lyngseidet you take the second ferry to Olderdalen.

    • When in Olderdalen, drive E6 towards Alta for 500 meters and you will locate the house on the right side. Look for the Ski Camp road sign.

Option one means the cost of the ferries must be added, but it gives you the opportunity to see the alps from the sea and it also means less driving hours. Both ferries will take approximately 1 hour.

For schedules and fares on the ferries, see Norled´s home page Norled.

Option two means driving all the way. A trip that will take approximately 3 hours.

    • Follow E8 to Nordkjosbotn.

    • Then the E6 in the Alta direction all the way to Olderdalen.

    • From the centre of Olderdalen, drive on for approximately 500 meters and you will find the house on your right hand side.

  • Option one includes a bus trip and two ferries.

    • Take the 150 towards Alta/Storslett.

Option Two means the bus will drive around the fjords with no ferries.

    • Take the 160 towards Storslett.

    • The 160 will drive around with no ferries.

Search Troms fylkestrafikk for schedules and fares.

Search "from" Tromsø Prostneset and "to" Olderdalen. A local buss will take you from the airport to Prostneset. If you come by bus from Narvik, change to bus 160 towards Alta in Nordkjosboten.
When you get to Olderdalen, ask the bus driver to stop at Olderdalen Ski Camp.
